Description

Learning cards are a wonderful way to build language, encourage vocabulary development, and increase reading skills. The Facial Expressions set includes 45 cards (4.25” x 5.5” each), including photographs of facial expressions. Also includes a resource guide and guided questions in English, Spanish, and French. Great for discussion or story starters, they teach children to recognize and describe feelings, as well as demonstrate empathy. Guided questions also develop expressive language skills, and the set supports NCTE and NAEYC standards. Key Education products are intended to engage and educate young and special learners, as well as assist teachers in building a strong and developmentally appropriate curriculum for these children. The product line―comprised of teacher/parent resource books, photographic learning cards, and other activity- and game-oriented materials―is designed to assist in “Unlocking the Potential in Every Child.”

Overall I think it was ok, there are some things that I didn't like about it such as it was cheaply made so I'm not sure how long it's going to last. Also for each expression there is no description saying what emotion it's supposed to be. At the same time that could be a good thing being that I've bought similar products where they would have the emotion written on the bottom of the card and it didn't match the facial expression in my opinion. So to look at it in a good way you can label the cards the emotion you feel it is.the pictures are simply printed on card stock with lines dividing the 4 pictures. You need to cut them apart yourself, and they're not even perforated. The pictures were ok, but if I wanted to take the time to assemble the deck of cards, I could have printed them myself using pictures from google images! There are better products out there! These were absolutely horrible. I bought it because I thought these were expressions and the written expression would be on the back of the cards. They aren't which wouldn't be so bad if you could even figure out what the expressions are. I'm an adult and have no problem reading people but more than half of the children's expressions I couldn't even begin to understand. Happy, sad, and mad were the only easy ones to identify. These aren't even good for conversation with older children when you don't even know what face the kids are making!not exactly what I expected, Not enough different expressions that children can recognize
